Ist Bindungssicherheit entwicklungsfördernd für Kinder mit Down-Syndrom?

Abstract

Zusammenfassung. Die Erfassung und die Bedeutung der Bindungsqualität bei Kindern mit Down-Syndrom ist wissenschaftlich umstritten. Anhand von Längsschnittdaten bei insgesamt 16 Kindern mit Bindungsklassifikation im Entwicklungsalter von 13 bis 15 Monaten (Lebensalter um 24 Monate) wird aufgezeigt, dass die Verhaltensentwicklung dieser Kinder in Bayley-Entwicklungstestsituationen (IBR-Ratings) im ersten bis zum fünften Lebensjahr in sinnvoller Beziehung zu ihrer Bindungsentwicklung stand. Ab dem fortgeschrittenen Vorschulalter entwickelten sich Kinder mit sicherer Bindung vor allem in der sprachlichen und in der sozial-kognitiven Entwicklung günstiger als Kinder mit unsicherer Bindungsbeziehung. Bindungssicherheit scheint sich in den ersten Jahren vor allem im Verhalten der Kinder und erst nahe dem Schulalter auch in Testleistungen auszuwirken.


Does secure attachment promote development in children with Down syndrome?

Abstract. The assessment and the significance of attachment in young children with Down-syndrome (DS) is scientifically controversial. Data from 16 young children with attachment classification at the mental age of 13 - 15 months (about 24 months chronological age) indicate meaningful relations between quality of attachment and behavior in Bayley test situations (IBR) during the first 5 years of life. Not until late in the preschool years was language and social-cognitive development of the securely attached children measurably advanced relative to that of insecurely attached children. It appears that quality of attachment is reflected first in children's social-emotional behavior and only later in developmental achievements.
