Zwangsstörungen im Kindes- und Jugendalter

Symptomatik und Diagnostik

Published Online:https://doi.org/10.1026/0942-5403/a000136

Phenomenology and assessment of obsessive-compulsive disorder in children and adolescents

Prevalence rates of juvenile obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) of around 1 – 2 % make OCD one of the more frequent psychiatric disorders in childhood and adolescence. Comorbidity is common and OCD is often associated with major psychosocial impairment. Despite the availability of effective interventions, the long-term course of OCD is unfavorable in a significant number of patients. In this paper a selective review is given of classification, epidemiology, phenomenology, comorbidity, assessment, and course of juvenile OCD.
