Abstract
Zusammenfassung. Die vorliegende Arbeit befasst sich mit Zusammenhängen zwischen Einstellungen gegenüber Ausländern von Jugendlichen und wahrgenommenen sowie tatsächlichen Positionen der Eltern zu diesen Fragen. Fragebogenauskünfte von 1312 Thüringer Sechst-, Acht- und Zehntklässlern sowie von 772 Müttern und 648 Vätern bilden die Basis von SEM-Analysen, die die Transmissions- und Projektionsprozesse untersuchten. Die Ergebnisse legen eine komplette Mediation der elterlichen Einstellungen über deren Wahrnehmung auf die Haltungen der Jugendlichen nahe. Gleichzeitig spielen projektive Prozesse eine wichtige Rolle für die subjektive Repräsentation der elterlichen Einstellungen. Projektionen verlieren mit steigender Klassenstufe an Bedeutung, während die Wahrnehmung der tatsächlichen Einstellungen der Eltern akkurater wird.
Abstract. The present study examines associations between adolescents’ attitudes towards foreigners and their perceptions of parental attitudes, and actual attitudes of parents. Questionnaire assessments including 1,312 students attending 6th, 8th, and 10th grade captured students’ own attitudes and their reports on their parents. As a second data source responses of 772 mothers and 648 fathers were included. Results of SEM analyses suggest a complete mediation of attitudes of parents to adolescents through perceived parental attitudes. Processes of projection are considered as a factor contributing to the construction of a representation of the parental positions. Projection becomes less influential with age while representation of parental positions become more accurate.
