Trauma- und belastungsbezogene Störungen

Neue Herausforderungen in der Klinischen Kinderpsychologie

Published Online:https://doi.org/10.1026/0942-5403/a000168

Trauma- and Stressor-Related Disorders: New Challenges for Clinicians in the Field of Child Psychology

With the release of the DSM-5, trauma- and stressor-related disorders were grouped together in a new chapter. Additional focus was placed on a developmental perspective, for example, by introducing new criteria for posttraumatic stress disorder in children under 6 years of age. In a similar vein, the forthcoming ICD-11 will contain a chapter for disorders specifically associated with stress that will most likely include two new diagnoses: complex posttraumatic stress disorder and prolonged grief disorder. Together with refining these diagnoses regarding children and adolescents, future research should focus more on patient groups with special needs and further the dissemination of established trauma-focused intervention methods.
