Abstract
Zusammenfassung. Die COVID-19-Pandemie hat uns gezwungen, viele Abläufe in der Klinik zu reorganisieren. Grosse Bedeutung kommt insbesondere dem Schutz von Risikogruppen zu, für welche jede Konsultation ein Risiko für eine Ansteckung mit dem SARS-CoV-2-Virus bedeutet. Patientinnen und Patienten mit einem Schrittmacher, einem implantierbaren Cardioverter/Defibrillator (ICD) oder einem implantierbaren Ereignisrekorder benötigen nichtsdestotrotz eine regelmässige Nachsorge dieser teils überlebenswichtigen Geräte, um deren einwandfreie Funktionsweise zu gewährleisten. Die telemedizinische Nachsorge dieser Geräte stellt die ideale Lösung dar, um in Pandemiezeiten den Spagat zwischen Patientensicherheit und Gerätesicherheit erfolgreich meistern zu können. Aber auch in normalen Zeiten hat sich die telemedizinische Nachsorge längstens bewährt. In diesem Artikel werden die Funktionsweise der telemedizinischen Nachsorge, der damit verbundene Patientennutzen und die Herausforderungen und Chancen näher beleuchtet.
Abstract. The COVID-19 pandemic urged us to reorganize many of our daily clinical processes. In this regard, the protection of vulnerable patient populations is of particular importance, since any visit to the outpatient clinic implies the risk of exposure to and infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Nevertheless, patients with a pacemaker, an implantable cardioverter/defibrillator (ICD) or an implantable cardiac monitor need regular follow-up to assure proper functionality of these devices. Remote monitoring is the ideal solution to meet the requirements of patient protection and device safety during pandemics. Besides, remote monitoring has already proved its value in normal times. This article summarizes the functionality of remote monitoring, describes the patient benefit and associated challenges and opportunities.
Résumé. La pandémie de COVID 19 nous a obligés à réorganiser de nombreux processus dans la clinique. Une grande importance est accordée en particulier à la protection des groupes à risque pour lesquels chaque consultation présente un risque d’infection par le virus du SARS-CoV-2. Les patients porteurs d’un stimulateur cardiaque, d’un cardioverteur/défibrillateur implantable (CDI) ou d’un enregistreur d’événements implantable ont néanmoins besoin d’un suivi régulier de ces dispositifs, dont certains sont vitaux pour la survie, afin de s’assurer de leur bon fonctionnement. Le suivi télémédical de ces dispositifs représente la solution idéale pour réussir à maîtriser l’équilibre entre la sécurité des patients et la sécurité des dispositifs en période de pandémie. Toutefois, c’est en temps normal que le suivi télémédical a fait le plus longtemps ses preuves. Dans cet article, le fonctionnement du suivi télémédical, les avantages associés pour le patient et les défis et opportunités sont examinés en détail.
