Music in combination with and without spoken words for relaxation as an adjuvant therapy form for patients with lower back pain and music alone for patients suffering in morbus parkinson

Abstract. Pain is a heavy burden and emotional strain for patients. There are more costs and longer stays in hospitals. Pain is always a individual subjective form of suffering. Psychological aspects like helplessness, hopelessness, anxious behaviour, depression etc. influence the degree of pain. Anxious behavior, muscle contraction, and reduction of sleep quality reduce quality of life anf prolong recovery processes. Music in combination with words for relaxation has the power to influence affective, cognitive, and sensoric pain behavior and to reduce pain in this way. It is the aim of this study to evaluate the effect of standardized music with and without spoken words for relaxation in patients with chronic lower back pain. At the same time, what effect a special stimulating music has on patients with morbus parkinson is shown.
