Posttraumatische Belastungsstörung

Abstract

Bei der Posttraumatischen Belastungsstörung handelt es sich um eine vieldiskutierte Diagnose. Aktuell erörtert werden dabei die Unterschiede zwischen den beiden Diagnosesystemen DSM-IV-TR und ICD-10, deren Auswirkungen auf die klinische Praxis und spezifisch die Anwendbarkeit der Diagnosekriterien auf Kinder und Jugendliche. Außerdem werden Vorschläge zur Klassifikation im Bereich chronischer und schwerer Traumatisierung, der aktuelle Stand zur Berücksichtigung entwicklungspsychologischer Aspekte in der Modellbildung sowie Diskrepanzen zwischen Therapieforschung und Praxis dargestellt.


Posttraumatic stress disorder

Posttraumatic stress disorder is a much debated diagnosis. Recent topics of discussion are differences in the current classification systems, DSM-IV-TR and ICD-10, and their consequences for clinical practice. Further disputed topics concern the adequacy of diagnostic criteria for children and adolescents and a proposed new diagnosis related to chronic and severe childhood trauma. The current status of psychopathological models explaining symptoms as well as developmental issues is introduced, and finally the discrepancy between empirical evidence in psychotherapy research and clinical practice is described.
