Abstract
Abstract. The present issue focuses on new challenges in the domain of eating disorder research. Eating disorders do not only lead to severe impairment of mental and physical health, but also inhibit normative development in adolescents and young adults. This special issue includes narrative reviews on prevention, body dissatisfaction in males and on current concepts of learning theory. We further introduce innovative intervention methods to treat food craving and present preliminary data on the efficacy of an e-mail guided self-help approach.
