Morbus Madelung (Benigne symmetrische Lipomatose) – Immer noch ein Rätsel?!

Malgré 150 ans d'histoire, la pathogenèse de la lipomatose bénigne symétrique (syndrome de Launois-Bensaude), maladie fréquemment associée à un abus chronique d'alcool, demeure énigmatique. Après description d'un cas souffrant de ce rare syndrome, une revue de la littérature est proposée, avec un accent particulier sur les hypothèses physiopathologiques, le diagnostic différentiel et le traitement chirurgical de cette lipomatose.

Die Pathophysiologie der häufig mit einer chronischen Alkoholkrankheit assoziierten benignen symmetrischen Lipomatose (M. Madelung) bleibt nach 150 Jahren Geschichte immer noch ein Rätsel. Der hier beschriebene Fall illustriert dieses relativ seltene Krankheitsbild. Es folgt eine nach pathogenetischen, differentialdiagnostischen und therapeutischen Aspekten ausgewählte Zusammenfassung der aktuellen Literatur.

The benign symmetric lipomatosis (Madelung's disease) is frequently associated with alcoholism. After 150 years of history, many questions about its physiopathological mechanism are still unresolved. Presentation of a patient with this rare condition is reported, followed by a review of the literature, where the pathogenesis, the differential diagnosis and the surgical approach of this syndrom are especially pointed out.
