Abstract
We report verbal association norms for 76 French action verbs, collected for four groups of 50 children schooled in the canton of Geneva, attending kindergarten grade 1 (5 years) and primary school grades 1, 3, and 5. These norms were established through a free association procedure, orally for the children of the lower grades, in writing for the children of the higher grades. These data compensate for the lack of norms for verbs for school aged children. They will be particularly useful for studies focusing on vocabulary acquisition, on conceptual development or on the representations of actions and verbs.
