Abstract
Abstract. Affective disorders (e. g., anxiety, depression) frequently begin during adolescence. Yet therapeutic approaches during adolescence differ in some respects from those employed during adulthood. During the transition from adolescence to adulthood, there is a high risk of discontinuation of therapeutic treatment, which may consequently affect integration in employment. There is a need for age-specific therapeutic strategies that address the relevant issues of adolescents as well as the presently unmet needs in research and treatment for this specific population.
