Steuerung des Denkens und Handelns

Abstract

Zusammenfassung: Am Beginn dieses Jahrhunderts dominiert in der psychologischen Grundlagenforschung im deutschsprachigen Raum die Auseinandersetzung mit der Frage, wie das menschliche geistige Geschehen gesteuert wird. Die wichtigsten experimentellen und theoretischen Analysen werden von Müller und Pilzecker (1900), Ach (1905) sowie von Selz (1913) vorgelegt. Als Mechanismen geordneter und zielgerichteter Denk- und Handlungsabläufe werden Assoziationen und Perseveration (Müller, 1913), determinierende Tendenzen (Ach, 1905) sowie schematische Antizipation (Selz, 1913) diskutiert. Der Beitrag zeigt, daß am Ende dieses Jahrhunderts diese Thematik erneut aufgegriffen wird. Neue Rahmenvorstellungen zur Handlungssteuerung bei einfachen Wahlreaktionen beziehen sich explizit auf die frühen Arbeiten von Ach (1905). Das Kennzeichen dieser Ansätze ist die Betonung der Funktionalität von Intentionen für die Handlungssteuerung (Prinz, 1998). Zentrale Probleme betreffen u. a. die Frage nach dem Zusammenwirken automatischer und kontrollierter Prozesse bei der Handlungssteuerung sowie die Ursachen von Interferenz. Diese Fragen werden in Bezug zu experimentellen Analysen exekutiver Kontrolle gesetzt, einem derzeit aktuellen Gebiet kognitions-psychologischer Forschung.


Control of Cognition and Action

Summary: Major research efforts of German Psychology at the beginning of the 20th century focussed on the control of cognition. The most relevant empirical and theoretical analyses were published by Müller and Pilzecker (1900), Ach (1905) and Selz (1913). Association and perseveration (Müller, 1913), determining tendencies (Ach, 1905) and schematic anticipation (Selz, 1913) were discussed as possible mechanisms for the control of cognition. At the end of the century this question gained again considerable attention. New frameworks for action control refer explicitly to Ach (1905). The function of intentions for action control is emphasized (Prinz, 1998). Important issues among others refer to the relation between automatic and controlled processing in action control, and to the sources of interference. These research questions are related to the actual experimental research on executive functions.
