Einfluss ethischer Überzeugungen auf das Organspendeverhalten
Ein Erweitertes Modell der Organspende
Abstract
Abstract. Based on the theory of reasoned action an extended model of organ donation (EMO) has been developed, which includes ethical considerations and mistrust in medical professions as determinants of organ donation behavior. A survey (student sample, N = 512) was conducted testing the EMO’s validity. Structural equation analyses reveal that, in addition to attitudes and subjective norms, respecting the peace of the deceased has the strongest impact on the willingness to donate. Unexpectedly, the impact of moral norms and the mistrust component is marginal. The EMO accounts for 80% of people’s willingness to donate organs. Willingness, in turn, predicts, together with the mistrust component, 29% as the variance in people’s behavior variance to sign or request an organ donor card.
