    Published Online:https://doi.org/10.1027/1016-9040/a000495

The European Federation of Psychologists’ Associations (EFPA) and Hogrefe Publishing are soliciting nominations for the role of Editor-in-Chief for EFPA’s official journal European Psychologist, to take effect from January 2024. The Editor-in-Chief, who enjoys full editorial independence, shall be responsible for the scientific content of the journal, which currently appears in four issues per annual volume. European Psychologist is a high-impact multidisciplinary journal that serves as the voice of psychology in Europe, seeking to integrate across all specializations in psychology and to provide a general platform for communication and cooperation among psychologists throughout Europe and worldwide. The core scientific material published in the journal is integrative articles and reviews, sometimes in special issues or sections. These state-of-the-art papers cover research trends and developments within psychology, with possible reference to European perceptions or fields of specialization. Empirical articles are generally more suitable for EFPA’s official empirical journal, European Journal of Psychology Open, and are considered for European Psychologist only in rare circumstances when they present findings from major multinational, multidisciplinary or longitudinal studies or with markedly wide relevance.

The term of office of the Editor-in-Chief will be for 4 years initially, with the hope and possibility of renewal for a further 4-year term. Candidates for the position should have prior editorial experience with a peer-reviewed journal of some standing and should be in the position to offer the significant commitment of time, expertise, and resources that such a position requires. A track record in encouraging systematic approaches such as the PRISMA standard, meta-analyses, and rapid reviews would be an advantage. Nominations (including self-nominations) should be sent in the form of an email or attached letter, stating why the candidate should be considered for the position, with a short description of relevant qualifications and editorial experience, to . Nominations should be submitted by 5:00 pm CET on

    Friday March 3, 2023.

Requests for further information about the role from the perspective of the current editor may be sent to the journal’s current Editor-in-Chief, Peter A. Frensch (). Interested candidates are also welcome to speak to EFPA President Christoph Steinebach or Vice President Nicola Gale (contact through ) or to Robert Dimbleby, Publishing Manager at Hogrefe Publishing (), about the broader context of European Psychologist.
