Evidence-Based Assessment (EBA) in Psychiatrie, Klinischer Psychologie und Psychotherapie

Published Online:https://doi.org/10.1024/1661-4747/a000351

Evidence-based Assessment in psychiatry, clinical psychology and psychotherapy

Abstract. In clinical practice, evidence-based treatment guidelines are becoming increasingly important. Within these, however, only unsatisfactory information on diagnostics is found, especially with regard to diagnostics accompanying the therapy. However, the success of a therapy, whether psycho- and/or pharmacotherapy, depends on the connection of therapy and diagnostics, for example to evaluate the course of therapy and success and, if necessary, to change the therapeutic strategy. The Evidence-Based Assessment (EBA) approach offers a helpful framework and concrete proposals as well as criteria for realizing this linkage. This paper will present EBA and illustrate it with examples of selected groups of disturbances.
