    Published Online:https://doi.org/10.1027/1864-9335/a000546

Hogrefe Publishing is soliciting nominations – including self-nominations – for the post of editor-in-chief for the journal Social Psychology, starting September 2024 when the term of the current editor-in-chief ends. The editor or editors (the appointment of two or three joint editors-in-chief is an option) will enjoy full editorial independence and will be responsible for the scientific content of the journal, which appears in six online issues per annual volume.

Social Psychology publishes innovative and methodologically sound research and serves as an international forum for scientific discussion and debate in the field of social psychology. Topics include all basic social psychological research themes, methodological advances in social psychology, as well as research in applied fields of social psychology. The journal focuses on original empirical contributions to social psychological research, but is open to theoretical articles, critical reviews, and replications of published research.

Drawing on nearly 50 years of experience in science publishing (as Zeitschrift für Sozialpsychologie until volume 38, 2007), Social Psychology has become a leading international outlet for high-quality, innovative social psychological research. The journal has an internationally renowned team of editors and consulting editors from all areas of basic and applied social psychology. The editorial team and the journal’s collaboration with the social psychology section of the German Psychological Society (DGPs) ensure that the highest international scientific and ethical standards are maintained.

Ideally, the initial term of office of the editor-in-chief will be 4 years, with the hope and possibility of renewal for a further term. Candidates for the position should have prior editorial experience with a peer-reviewed journal and should be in the position to offer the significant commitment of expertise, time, and resources that such a position requires.

Nominations (including self-nominations) should be sent by email or attached letter, stating why the candidate should be considered for the position, with a short description of relevant qualifications and editorial experience, to
