Konstituenten beruflicher Aspirationen
Abstract
Zusammenfassung. Zur Überprüfung von Gottfredsons Theorie der entwicklungsbedingten Eingrenzung beruflicher Aspirationen wurden Geschlechtstyp- und Prestigeeinschätzungen von Berufen bei insgesamt n = 959 Jugendlichen erhoben. Im Unterschied zur gängigen Abfrage von Wunschberufen im freien Antwortformat wurden die Wunschberufe der Jugendlichen über Einschätzungslisten erfasst. Die Ergebnisse zeigen signifikante Unterschiede nach Geschlecht und Klassenstufe. Weibliche Jugendliche bilden ein größeres berufliches Aspirationsfeld. Zum einen zeigen sie eine größere Akzeptanzspanne auf der Geschlechtsdimension, zum anderen ein niedrigeres Mindestniveau auf der Prestigedimension. Für die Diagnostik und Berufsberatung legen die Ergebnisse nahe, neben manifesten Interessen sich früh herausbildende Berufsorientierungen und Geschlechtsunterschiede in der Begrenzung beruflicher Aspirationen in den Blick zu nehmen.
Abstract. The study aimed at testing Godfredson’s developmental theory of occupational aspirations. In all, 959 adolescents were asked to estimate the sex type and prestige level of a list of occupations and to indicate which of the occupations they might aspire to in the future. Differential effects of sex and class level were found. Female adolescents’ vocational aspirations formed a larger field. They showed a broader range on the sex type dimension and included occupations of lower prestige levels. The results call for a broader view of job diagnostics and consultation practices including aspirations as early forms of manifest interests and gender influences.
