Parasuizide bei Kindern und Jugendlichen
Abstract
Abstract. This review focuses on specific aspects of parasuicidal behavior in children and adolescents. Significant risk factors are psychiatric disorders in the child or adolescent as well as a low level of functioning in the family. However, there are also a considerable number of other individual and psychosocial variables that are statistically associated with parasuicide. A small subgroup of children and adolescents repeatedly show parasuicidal behavior. Implications of the scientific evidence presented for diagnosis and therapy are discussed.
