Was wirkt in der Therapie von Depression bei Kindern und Jugendlichen wirklich?

Abstract

Vor allem die kognitiv-verhaltenstherapeutische Behandlung depressiver Kinder und Jugendlicher gilt als recht gut untersucht und wirksam. Die Ergebnisse und Erkenntnisse aktueller Metaanalysen und Übersichtsarbeiten werden diskutiert. Bisher belegen keine Ergebnisse stichhaltig die Überlegenheit einer Therapierichtung über die andere. Es stellt sich die Frage, ob neben spezifischen, theoretisch begründeten Interventionen einzelner Therapieschulen nicht vielmehr unspezifische, allgemeine Wirkfaktoren die Effektivität psychotherapeutischer Behandlungen begründen. Vergleichende Therapiestudien sind nötig. Allgemeine Wirkfaktoren müssen in Forschung und Therapie stärker berücksichtigt werden.


What is effective in psychotherapy with depressive children and adolescents?

Cognitive behavioral therapy is quite well evaluated and seems to be an effective form of psychotherapy in depressive children and adolescents. Results and findings of recent meta-analyses and reviews are illustrated and discussed. There are no findings showing that one treatment is superior to another. There may be unspecific common factors in psychotherapy rather than specific theoretically founded ones that work as active ingredients in different forms of interventions. Studies comparing different established treatments and systematic research into common and nonspecific factors in psychotherapy are needed.
