Abstract
In this paper the results of two psychoanalytically oriented early prevention programs, the Frankfurt Preventionstudy and the EVA project (Evaluation of two kindergarten prevention programs in disadvantaged urban areas), are summarized. The concept of “outreaching psychoanalysis” is discussed focusing on the question of how psychoanalysis may contribute to an interdisciplinary understanding of early prevention. In the two prevention programs mentioned, clinically experienced child psychoanalysts support teachers and parents in their daily educational tasks, e. g., in coping with severely traumatized children. The respectful cooperation between teachers and therapists is essential as some examples from the field of psychoanalytical pedagogics may illustrate.
The positive effects of the Frankfurt Prevention Study have already been shown. The EVA study is still ongoing.
