Normbrechendes Verhalten, Körperbeschwerden und depressive Symptombelastung bei Schülerinnen und Schülern — Welche Rolle spielt die soziale Unterstützung?

Abstract

Zusammenfassung. Basierend auf einer einjährigen Längsschnittstudie mit drei Messzeitpunkten an 326 Schülern im Alter zwischen 10 und 15 Jahren wird dem quer- wie längsschnittlichen Zusammenhang zwischen normbrechendem Verhalten, Körperbeschwerden und Depressivität unter Berücksichtigung der wahrgenommenen sozialen Unterstützung durch Eltern und Peers nachgegangen. Aufgrund eines Defizits der Erforschung normbrechenden Verhaltens von Mädchen, erfolgen die Analysen für weibliche und männliche Jugendliche getrennt. Epidemiologische Studien zeigen, dass aggressives Verhalten häufiger als erwartet mit internalisierenden Symptomen einhergeht. Als potenziell vermittelnder Mechanismus wird die Ablehnung durch die Peer-Gruppe diskutiert (vgl. Kusch & Petermann, 1997). Entwickelt sich aggressives Verhalten vor internalisierenden Symptomen, so könnten diese früh identifiziert und präventive Maßnahmen eingeleitet werden.


Norm-breaking behavior, physical disorders, and depressive symptoms of students — What role does social support play?

Abstract. A one-year longitudinal study explored the cross-sectional and longitudinal associations between norm-violating behavior, somatic complaints, and depression, considering the influence of parent and peer support. 326 students aged between 10 and 15 years participated in three assessments. Because of the lack of research concerning norm-violating behavior by girls, analyses were conducted for males and females seperately. Epidemiological research shows that aggressive behavior often co occurs with internalizing symptoms, whereas rejection by peers is discussed as a potential mediator (Kusch & Petermann, 1997). If aggressive behavior occurs chronologically before the development of internalizing symptoms, preventive measures could be taken at an early stage of the development of internalizing symptoms.
