Abstract
Nicht-suizidales selbstverletzendes Verhalten (NSSV) wurde in Studien an deutschen Schulen von ca. 14 bis 25 % der Jugendlichen beschrieben. Vielfach werden Lehrer oder anderes Schulpersonal zum ersten Ansprechpartner, wenn Jugendliche von sich aus Hilfe suchen oder Probleme im Schulalltag entstehen, die mit NSSV zusammenhängen. Auch die Verbreitung von NSSV innerhalb eines Klassenverbandes wird als problematisches Phänomen von MitarbeiterInnen des Schuldienstes beschrieben. Dieser Beitrag gibt einen Überblick über den Umgang mit NSSV im schulischen Kontext. Studien konnten zeigen, dass strukturierte Schüler- und Lehrerprogramme das Wissen über NSSV vermehren können. Zudem haben sich bereits einige Protokolle zum Umgang mit NSSV im schulischen Alltag bewährt.
Non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) has been reported by 14 – 25 % of the adolescents in studies at German schools. If students try to seek help on their own, or problems linked to NSSI emerge in the school context, teachers and other school professionals often represent the first contact. Also, the spreading of NSSI within a class has been identified as a problematic phenomenon by school professionals. This paper aims to provide a review about dealing with NSSI in the school context. It has been shown that knowledge about NSSI can be increased through structured programs both for students and for teachers. Additionally, some school protocols have proven useful for school routines yet.
