Zur Bedeutung und Erfassung konstruktiver Kommunikationsmuster bei Elternpaaren
Reliabilität und Validität des Screeninginstruments Fragebogen zur Erfassung partnerschaftlicher Kommunikationsmuster – Konstruktive Kommunikation (FPK-KoKom)
Abstract
Abstract. Background: Owing to the importance of the relationship between parents in child development, it is useful to assess the parents’ relationship diagnostically in child-centered therapy settings. This article presents the Constructive Communication subscale of the Communication Patterns Questionnaire (CPQ-CoCom) as an appropriate screening instrument. Method: We investigated the reliability and validity of the CPQ-CoCom using a sample of 201 parents. Results: The internal consistency is good (α = .84/.85 mothers/fathers). The construct validity was established by yielding significant correlations with other, conceptually related questionnaires (e. g., dyadic relationship quality, children’s behavior problems). A discriminant function analysis showed that the CPQ-CoCom items could predict marital stability significantly over 10 years. Conclusion: The CPQ-CoCom is a short, reliable, and valid self-report-measure, suitable for future use with parents both in research and practice.
