Kontextspezifische Emotionsregulationsstile
Entwicklung eines Fragebogens zur Emotionsregulation im Lernkontext “Mathematik”
Abstract
Abstract. This paper describes the development of a questionnaire measuring the regulation of positive and negative emotions during math learning. The questionnaire consists of four scales representing adaptive vs. maladaptive strategies for the regulation of positive and negative learning emotions. In order to assess the reliability and validity of the scales, two samples of students were drawn (sample A: N = 180, aged 10-14; B: N = 181, aged 13-14). Explorative and confirmatory factor analyses supported the assumed structure; furthermore, the four scales showed moderate to good internal consistencies. Content validity was confirmed by expert ratings. Criterion-oriented and construct validity were tested by analysing associations between the scales and measures of students' motivation and academic achievement for sample B. Positive correlations between intrinsic motivation and adaptive regulation were observed. The results support the applicability and usefulness of the questionnaire for research into emotion regulation during learning.
