Leistungsängstlichkeit: Facetten, Fächer, Fachfacetten?
Zur Trennbarkeit nach Angstfacette und Inhaltsbereich
Abstract
Summary: One major focus of test anxiety research has been the distinction of different anxiety components (e.g., worry, emotionality). Recently the distinction of different content areas (e.g., subjects in school) has also been addressed. A sample of N = 1213 students (grade 8 to 10) responded to a questionnaire, in which both aspects (different facets of test anxiety and different school subjects) were combined simultaneously. Confirmatory factor analyses revealed the three postulated anxiety facets (i.e., worry, emotionality, cognitive manifestation) in every subject. Four subject-specific factors (maths, physics, German, English) indicated separate content factors on the level of each anxiety facet. Additional model comparisons documented the importance of a simultaneous consideration of both aspects, the anxiety facet and the content area (subject). The differential relationships of subject-specific anxiety facets and scholastic achievement (grades) demonstrate their convergent and discriminant validity.
