Abstract
Abstract. In three studies, we analyzed a German version of the organization-based self-esteem scale (OBSE). Study 1 addressed scale analysis and validity with regard to general self-esteem, job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and job identification (N = 193 nurses). In study 2 (N = 163 nurses), we tested the construct validity with regard to eight variables (Big Five, team orientation, anxiety, and general self-esteem) and examined the incremental validity of OBSE for the prediction of job satisfaction. Study 3 (N = 111 nurses) examined construct validity (general self-esteem, internal locus of control, self-efficacy, and neuroticism) as well as the incremental validity of OBSE for the prediction of job satisfaction and job performance. Results underline the validity of the organization-based self-esteem scale.
