ADHS über die Lebensspanne – Symptome und neue diagnostische Ansätze

Abstract

Zusammenfassung.Die ADHS im Erwachsenenalter kann als eine Lebensspannenerkrankung angesehen werden, deren Bedeutsamkeit für das Gesundheitssystem über eine Vielzahl internationaler Studien belegt ist. So greifen verschiedene Studien die Lebensspannenperspektive auf, indem der Fokus auf die Entwicklungsabschnitte gelegt wird, in denen eine qualitative Veränderung der Symptomatik erwartet wird. Weiterhin berücksichtigen Studien zur Komorbidität bei ADHS im Erwachsenenalter die Entwicklungsgeschichte und versuchen die Faktoren zu isolieren, die zu einem negativen Verlauf führen. Auch in der Diagnostik und Therapie ließ sich in den letzten Jahren ein deutlicher Fortschritt erkennen. So stehen mittlerweile psychometrisch gut abgesicherte Verfahren zur Verfügung, die sich in den klinisch-diagnostischen Prozess zur Erfassung der ADHS im Erwachsenenalter integrieren lassen, und auch im Bereich psychotherapeutischer Versorgung wurden verschiedene Programme entwickelt, was dem Therapeuten eine breite Auswahl an Möglichkeiten bietet. Neben klinischen Symptomen werden auch die Auswirkungen der ADHS mit Bezug auf Delinquenz und Verhalten im Straßenverkehr diskutiert. Darüber hinaus werden Fakten zur sozioökonomischen Bedeutung der ADHS aufgezeigt, die den Schluss nahelegen, dass eine therapeutische Versorgung essentiell ist.


ADHD across the Lifespan – Symptoms and new Diagnostic Approaches

Abstract.ADHD in adults can be regarded as a lifespan disorder, whose importance for the health system is demonstrated by a number of international studies. Various studies focus on the life span perspective, with special regards to the developmental stages in which a qualitative change of symptoms is expected. Furthermore several studies assess the comorbidity of ADHD in adulthood, its history and try to isolate the factors that lead to a negative developmental path. In recent years improvements in the field of diagnostic and therapy can be observed. Diagnostic instruments for the assessment of adult ADHD with high psychometric properties are available and can be used in the clinical diagnostic process. Different psychotherapeutic programs have also been developed, which provide a wide range of possibilities for therapists. In addition to the clinical symptoms the impact on ADHD is discussed with respect to new findings regarding the connection between delinquincy and driving abilities. In addition, figures on socio-economic importance are discussed, which lead to the point that therapeutic care is essential.
